Auktion und „Tag der Legenden“: Das Nationale Automuseum gibt im Herbst Gas
Großer Auktionstag im Museum
Auf der Suche nach originellen und seltenen Automobilia? Am Sonntag, 23. November, veranstaltet das Nationale Automuseum eine Auktion in Kooperation mit dem auf Oldtimer und Sammlerstücke rund ums Auto spezialisierten Auktionshaus Ni-Cola Classics. Beginn ist um 13:30 Uhr. Versteigert werden insgesamt rund 100 Posten, viele davon für einen guten Zweck. Zu den Highlights zählt der Helm, den Henry Walkenhorst beim diesjährigen 24h-Rennen auf dem Nürburgring trug, als er den RTL-Charity Aston Martin Vantage GT3 auf Platz zwei in seiner Klasse fuhr. Der Erlös des Helms geht an die „Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.“
Weitere Attraktion ist ein goldfarbener Subaru Legacy, den Kult-Tuner und PS-Profi Sidney Hoffmann im Rahmen des Projekts „Goldie“ aus dem „Rostlauben“-Dasein wieder zurück zum Leben erwecken will. Ein spannendes Projekt mit – derzeit – noch offenem Ausgang. Ebenfalls unterm Hammer: das vom Künstler Hendrik Schmeer in Acrylfarben gemalte Bild eines roten Ferrari F40 im Format 160 x 120 Zentimeter. Dank der Lasurtechnik mit einer Vielzahl von Farbschichten besticht Schmeers Arbeit durch ein Höchstmaß an Realismus und Gegenständlichkeit.

Save the Date: „Tag der Legenden“ mit Walter Röhrl
Rallye-Fans aufgepasst: Beim zweiten „AUTOMOBILSPORT Tag der Legenden“ am Samstag, 13. Dezember, dreht sich alles um Walter Röhrl. Der Rallye-Europameister von 1974 und Weltmeister von 1980 und 1982 und einige seiner Weggefährten werden bei dem vom Nationalen Automuseum und dem Sportfahrer Verlag veranstalteten Podium-Talk „aus dem Nähkästchen“ plaudern. Kolumnist, Ex-Rennfahrer und Szene-Kenner Eckhard Schimpf wird ihnen im angeregten „Benzingespräch“ neben Informationen aus erster Hand zu Fahrzeugen, Fahrern, Teams und Wettkämpfen bestimmt auch die eine oder andere Anekdote entlocken. Neben Walter Röhrl werden sein langjähriger Co-Pilot Christian Geistdörfer und der frühere Porsche-Renningenieur Roland Kussmaul auf dem Podium sitzen. Eine Signierstunde mit Walter Röhrl rundet den „Tag der Legenden“ ab.
Besonderes Highlight für Sammler: zwei streng limitierte Modellfahrzeuge werden exklusiv im Rahmen dieser Veranstaltung im Museums-Shop erhältlich sein.
„Lino Olizzo & Friends“ live auf dem Museums-Marktplatz
Musik für einen guten Zweck: Am Freitag, 19. Dezember, gastieren „Lino Olizzo & Friends“ exklusiv auf dem weihnachtlich geschmückten Marktplatz des Nationalen Automuseums. Das Konzert beginnt um 19:00 Uhr, Inhaber einer Karte können aber schon ab 16:00 Uhr den einzigartigen Fahrzeugschatz des Museums bewundern – trotz Winterpause! Lino Olizzo und seine Band nehmen das Publikum vor der Kulisse der Klassiker der Automobilgeschichte mit auf eine temperamentvolle musikalische Reise durch verschiedene Genres wie Rock, Pop, Reggae – und selbstverständlich auch Weihnachtslieder, dies alles gewürzt mit viel italienischer Leidenschaft.
Im Ticketpreis von 49 Euro inbegriffen ist der exklusive Museumszugang. Neben dem Standardticket besteht die Möglichkeit, zum Preis von 179 Euro ein Exklusivtickets zu erwerben. Dieses beinhaltet als Extra ein entspanntes Dinner in der Lounge mit Getränken, Buffet, einzigartiger Sicht auf das Konzert und einem persönlichen Meet & Greet mit der Band. Wer kein Exklusivticket ergattern konnte, hat die Möglichkeit, im Museumsrestaurant „New York New York“ den besonderen Tag genussreich ausklingen zu lassen. Der Erlös des Konzerts wird an regionale Hilfsprojekte gespendet.
Bald exklusiv im Museums-Shop: der Ferrari 330 P3/412 P von Wiking
Ab 5. November im Museums-Shop erhältlich: das erste von der Traditionsmarke Wiking für die Loh Collection komplett exklusiv gefertigte Sondermodell. Vorbild der Miniatur im Maßstab 1:87 ist der Ferrari 330 P3/412 P, der in der Dauerausstellung zu bewundern ist. Der Sportprototyp gilt unter Kennern als schönster Rennwagen, den die Scuderia je gebaut hat. Für 29,99 Euro haben Fans der italienischen Marke die Gelegenheit, ihre Modellautosammlung um die detailgetreue Miniaturausgabe des Klassikers zu erweitern. Der Ferrari 330 P3/412 P bereichert das wachsende Sortiment an exklusiven Modellautos, Postern, T-Shirts und Memorabilia, die es nur vor Ort zu kaufen gibt.
Vier ganz besondere Vorserienmodelle sind ebenfalls Bestandteil der Auktion am 23.11.2025. Wiking-Fans können sich also schon freuen!
Aus der Sammlung: Ferrari F2007
2007 markiert eine Zäsur für Ferrari: Es ist das Jahr eins nach Michael Schumacher. In elf Saisons für die Scuderia gewann der Ausnahmefahrer aus dem rheinischen Kerpen fünf WM-Titel, was die Suche nach einem Thronfolger nicht eben einfacher macht. Die Wahl fällt auf den McLaren-Piloten Kimi Räikkönen, der bis dahin zu den härtesten Widersachern Schumachers auf der Rennstrecke zählte und eine beeindruckende Zahl von Rennsiegen, aber noch keinen Titel vorweisen kann. Die Rechnung von Ferrari geht auf: Der „Iceman“, wie Räikkönen wegen seiner Ruhe und Nervenstärke genannt wird, gewinnt gleich sein erstes Rennen in Rot. Insgesamt gelingen dem schweigsamen Finnen in seinem ersten Ferrari-Jahr zwölf Podiumsplätze, sechs Siege und der Fahrertitel. Teamkollege Felipe Massa steuert weitere drei Siege und zehn Podiumsränge bei, so dass am Saisonende für Ferrari neben der Fahrer- auch die Konstrukteurs-Weltmeisterschaft herausspringt.
Mit dem F2007 stellt der Rennstall aus Maranello das aerodynamisch effizienteste Auto im Feld auf die Räder. Eine Fülle von Flügeln, Flaps und Winglets zeugt von der umfangreichen Arbeit im Windkanal. Zudem hat der F2007 einen längeren Radstand als die Konkurrenten. Damit steht mehr Oberfläche zur Verfügung, die sich aerodynamisch vorteilhaft nutzen lässt. Zusammen mit dem standfesten 2,4-Liter-V8-Motor ergibt dieses ein exzellentes Gesamtpaket.
Bei dem Fahrzeug der Loh Collection handelt es sich um das Chassis mit der Nummer 262, mit dem Kimi Räikkönen 14 der insgesamt 17 Saisonrennen bestritt und fünf Siege erzielte. Zu sehen ist der bis heute letzte Ferrari, der eine Fahrer-WM errang, in der Sonderausstellung „Grand Prix – Ikonen der Königsklasse“.

Big auction day at the museum
Are you looking for original and rare automobilia? On Sunday, 23 November, Nationales Automuseum will hold an auction in cooperation with Ni-Cola Classics, an auctioneer specialising in classic cars and collectables. It starts at 1:30 pm. Approximately 100 items will be auctioned off, with many benefiting a good cause. Highlights include the helmet that Henry Walkenhorst wore at this year’s 24-hour race at the Nürburgring when he drove the RTL Charity Aston Martin Vantage GT3 to second place in its class. The proceeds from the helmet go to the “Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.” foundation to help children.
Another attraction is a gold-coloured Subaru Legacy that had been left to rust. Sidney Hoffmann, the cult tuner and “horsepower professional”, now wants to bring back to life as part of the “Goldie” project – an exciting endeavour with an open-ended outcome. A 160 x 120-centimetre acrylic painting of a red Ferrari F40 by artist Hendrik Schmeer will also be sold off. Schmeer’s work impresses with a high degree of realism and representational quality, thanks to a glazing technique that employs numerous layers of paintwork.

Save the date: “Day of Legends” with Walter Röhrl
Rally fans, watch out! The second “AUTOMOBILSPORT Day of Legends” on Saturday, 13 December, focuses on Walter Röhrl. The 1974 European Rally Champion, who was also World Champion in 1980 and 1982, will join some of his companions and share their insights during the podium discussion organised by the Nationales Automuseum and the Sportfahrer Verlag publishing house. During the lively “gasoline talk”, the columnist, former racing driver and cognoscente Eckhard Schimpf, is sure to elicit one or two anecdotes alongside first-hand details of vehicles, drivers, teams, and competitions. Besides Walter Röhrl, his long-time co-driver Christian Geistdörfer and former Porsche racing engineer, Roland Kussmaul, will also be on the podium. A book-signing session with Walter Röhrl will round off the “Day of Legends”.
One special highlight for collectors: as part of this event, two strictly limited series of model vehicles will be available exclusively in the museum shop.
“Lino Olizzo & Friends” live at the museum market square
Music for a good cause: On Friday, 19 December, “Lino Olizzo & Friends” will be performing exclusively at the National Automobile Museum’s festively decorated market square. The concert starts at 7 p.m., but ticket holders can admire the museum’s unique collection of vehicles from 4 p.m. onwards – with special access during the winter break! Lino Olizzo and his band will take the audience on a spirited musical journey through various genres, such as rock, pop, reggae – and, of course, Christmas carols – all spiced with plenty of Italian passion, against the backdrop of classic cars from automotive history.
The ticket price of €49 includes exclusive access to the museum. In addition to the standard ticket, there is also the option of purchasing an exclusive ticket for €179. This includes a relaxed dinner in the lounge with drinks, a buffet, a unique view of the concert and a personal meet & greet with the band. Those who are unable to get hold of an exclusive ticket can round off this special day in style at the museum restaurant “New York New York”. The proceeds from the concert will be donated to regional aid projects.
Coming soon, exclusively to the museum shop: the Ferrari 330 P3/412 P from Wiking
Available in the museum shop from 5 November, this is the first special model produced exclusively for the Loh Collection by the traditional Wiking brand. The 1:87-scale (“HO”) miniature is modelled on the Ferrari 330 P3/412 P, which can be admired in the permanent exhibition. The sports prototype is regarded by connoisseurs as the most beautiful racing car ever made by the Scuderia. For €29.99, fans of the Italian marque will have the chance to expand their model car collection with a detailed miniature version of this classic. The Ferrari 330 P3/412 P will enrich the growing range of exclusive model cars, posters, T-shirts, and memorabilia that can only be purchased at the museum.
Four very special pre-production models will also be auctioned off on 23 November 2025. Wiking fans can already look forward to it!
From the collection: Ferrari F2007
2007 marked a turning point for Ferrari as it was the beginning of the post-Schumacher era. In 11 seasons for the Scuderia, the extraordinary driver from Kerpen in Germany’s Rhineland won five consecutive world championship titles, which didn’t make the search for a successor any easier. The choice fell on McLaren driver Kimi Räikkönen, who, up to then, had been one of Schumacher’s fiercest rivals on the racetrack, with an impressive number of race wins to his name, though no actual titles. Ferrari’s plan paid off: The “Iceman”, as Räikkönen was known because of his composure and strong nerves, won his first race in the red racing colours. In his first year at Ferrari, the dour Finn stepped up onto the podium no less than 12 times, with six victories and the drivers’ title. His team-mate Felipe Massa contributed another three wins and 10 podium finishes, meaning that, by the end of the season, Ferrari had won both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships.
With the F2007, Ferrari had the most aerodynamically efficient car in the field. An abundance of wings, flaps, and winglets bears testimony to the extensive work carried out in the wind tunnel. Moreover, the F2007 had a longer wheelbase than its competitors. This created a larger surface area, providing an aerodynamic advantage. Combined with the robust 2.4-litre V8 engine, this resulted in a superb overall package.
The Loh Collection’s vehicle, chassis number 262, is the car in which Kimi Räikkönen contested 14 of the season’s 17 races, chalking up five victories. The last Ferrari to win a Drivers’ World Championship so far can be seen in the special “Grand Prix – Icons of the Elite Class” exhibition.
